Specimen Requirements
Specimen must arrive in laboratory within 4 hours of draw at ambient temperature.
Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: 2.7-mL light-blue top (3.2% sodium citrate)
Specimen Volume: Full tube
Collection Instructions:
1. Draw a full tube using a 21-gauge needle or larger.
2. Gently invert 3 to 5 times to mix blood.
3. Do not refrigerate or centrifuge.
Additional Information: Do not put specimen on any mixing device or transport in pneumatic tube system.
