Automated Latex Enhanced Immunoassay Determination
Useful for the diagnosis of the syndrome of intravascular coagulation and fibrinolysis, also known as disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). It may also be useful in screening possible recent deep venous thrombosis or pulmonary embolism.

Specimen Requirements
Specimen must arrive in laboratory within 4 hours of draw.
Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: Light-blue top (3.2% sodium citrate)
Specimen Volume: Full tube
Collection Instructions: If there is a delay in transport of >4 hours, centrifuge for 10 minutes, remove plasma, and send plasma frozen in plastic vial.

Whole blood: Ambient 4 hours
Plasma: Frozen 30 days
