Specimen Type: Serum

Container/Tube:

Preferred:  Serum gel or red top

Acceptable:  Green top (Lithium Heparin). Label specimen appropriately.

Specimen Volume: 1.0 mL

 

Specimen Transport Temperature

Refrigerated ( serum removed within 8 hours and testing will be performed in less than 48 hours).

Frozen if testing will not be completed within 48 hours

Reference Values

Myeloperoxidase Antibodies IgG:

Negative: <3.5 U/ml

EquivocalL 3.5-5.0 U/ml

Positive: >5.0 U/ml

 

Proteinase 3 Antibodies IgG:

Negative:   (<2.0 U/ml)

Equivocal:  (2.0-3.0 U/ml)

Positive:     (>3.0 U/ml)
