Methodology

Chemiluminometric Immunoassay

Useful for evaluation of males with erectile dysfunction, gynecomastia, osteoporosis, infertility, delayed or precocious puberty, and for monitoring replacement therapy; women with hirsutism, virilization, and oligomenorrhea; and infants with ambiguous genitalia and/or virilizing syndromes.

Preferred: Serum gel or plain red top

Specimen Volume: 0.5 mL

Minimum Volume: 0.25 ml

Additional Information: Patient’s age and sex are required.

Collection Instructions:  Centrifuge within 1 hour of collection.  Serum or Plasma must be removed from gel for cells immediately after centrifugation.
