Preferred: Green top (lithium heparin)

Acceptable: Sodium heparin

Venous or arterial blood is acceptable.

Samples cannot be collected in microtainers. No capillary blood samples

Specimen Volume: Full tube preferred.

Minimum Volume: 0.5 ml

Collection Instructions: Avoid exposure of specimen to atmosphere.
