Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Serum
Container/Tube: Gold top (SST) & Red top (Serum & No Additive)
Specimen Volume: 1 mL
Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.6 mL
Collection Instructions: Label specimen appropriately (serum).
If collecting using a red top with no gel separator, the serum must be removed within 1 hour of collection.
Specimen Transport Temperature
Refrigerated if testing will be completed within 48 hours
Frozen and removed from gel if testing will not be completed within 48 hours
