Specimen Requirements

Peritoneal dialysate fluid and plasma are required.

 

Specimen Type: Peritoneal dialysate fluid

Container/Tube: Plastic container

Specimen Volume: 10 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Collect specimen at 0-hours, 2-hours, 4-hours, and 24-hours each.

2. Label specimen appropriately (peritoneal dialysate fluid and corresponding collection time).

 

Specimen Type: Plasma

Container/Tube: Green top (lithium heparin)

Specimen Volume: 1 mL

Collection Instructions:

1. Spin down and remove plasma from cells within 1 hour of draw.

2. Label specimen appropriately (plasma).
