Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Plasma

Container/Tube: Green top (Lithium heparin/PST)

Specimen Volume: 0.5 mL heparinized plasma (venous, arterial, or capillary blood) . Microtainer ok.

Collection Instructions:

1. Place specimen on ice.

2. Spin down and aliquot plasma from cells into  separate tube within 15 minutes of draw.  Keep plasma on ice.

3. Freeze plasma if testing can not be performed within 2 hours
