Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Plasma

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)

Specimen Volume: 1 mL plasma

Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL 

Collection Instructions:

1. Place specimen on ice.

2. Spin down and aliquot plasma from cells into separate tube within 15 minutes of draw. Keep plasma on ice.

3. Freeze plasma if testing can not be performed within 2 hours.

Container/Tube: Green top (Sodium heparin, Lithium heparin, & PST) -or- Lavender top (EDTA)

Specimen Volume: 1 mL plasma

Minimum Volume: 0.5 mL

2. Spin down and aliquot plasma from cells into separate tube within 15 minutes of draw. Keep plasma on ice.
