If patient does not have a record in Transfusion Service, then LAB0200196 ABO and Rh Type, Blood will be performed at an additional charge.

Specimen Requirements

Must be transfused within 6 hours of thawing.

 

Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)

Specimen Volume: 5 mL

Additional Information:

1. Indicate number of cryoprecipitates and when needed. one unit equal approximately to a 50mg/dl rise in fibrinogen.  Typical adult dose is 1-2 units.

2. Transfuse cryoprecipitate immediately after thawing
